The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, or PKKCV for short, has existed in China since 1949. It is an instrument that gives democratic parties, organizations and representatives of national minorities the opportunity to participate in the opinion-forming process of the National People's Congress. However, the PKKCV is not a state body with political decision-making power, but rather an advisory body to the Chinese government.
Mr. Ye will represent Dr.-Ing. Häring in the future as a representative of the fields of science and technology at the Political Consultative Conference of Suzhou, a metropolis with 13 million inhabitants. As a member of this conference, Mr. Ye will be able to make proposals on the topics of non-governmental investment, dual education system and technology.
The members of the Political Consultative Conference are elected every five years. The conference is held once a year and lasts three to four days, as needed. Due to rising coronavirus case numbers in Shanghai and Suzhou, the conference in Suzhou planned for 2022 has been postponed for the time being.
